Easy Yoga Basics in 10 minutes

easy yoga in 10 minutes

Practicing yoga means being a “student of life” because the exercises open up your mind and body to the little treasures and simple pleasures that life has to offer. Low tension stretching exercises are my favorite they can help reduce stress, clear the mind, tone the body, and even raise your spirits!

Here’s a quick ten-minute yoga routine you can do the moment you wake up (you can even do it sitting up on your bed!):

  • The first step may sound a little silly, but begin by stretching your eye muscles. Roll them around slowly but firmly for a few minutes without moving your head. This should help strengthen the muscles and increase your focus.
  • Then move down to your neck. Roll it around clockwise and then counterclockwise in a slow but controlled manner. You will literally feel the tightness loosen up.
  • Next, move your head to the left and hold it for a few seconds, then do the same on the right side. This helps reduce tension in your neck, and can help clear up those morning headaches.
  • Lastly, roll your shoulders forward then backward. This will relax your back and help you limber up for the day ahead.

Try these yoga moves out, and remember to have fun with them.

The benefits of yoga aren’t always apparent overnight; combining its principles  and learning to truly relax will take some time, but it’s time well spent.

Health and Love,

Summer

After reading this article, I got interested in doing yoga exercises. I’ve been doing weight training for over a year now and I’m bored doing it. Maybe I need a change of routine that can also relieve stress. :)

I have tried basic yoga before when my friend asked me to join their yoga session. It was relaxing and I feel lighter when having this form of exercise.
